Proof of work

The team

At Kraken Digital Asset Exchange, our Asset Listing team is dedicated to accelerating the global adoption of crypto. We ensure our clients can access the latest crypto tokens on our platform while giving new crypto projects the visibility they deserve.

This team plays a pivotal role in advancing Kraken’s mission every day, consistently achieving outstanding results. As we scale our operations, we’re expanding by hiring the most talented business development professionals on the planet—those who are curious and passionate about driving the mainstream adoption of cryptocurrency and the technology behind it. That’s where you come in!

We’re looking for a Business Development Associate to join our team remotely, based in the US, UK, or Europe. We’re seeking highly ambitious and experienced sales professionals to lead Kraken’s business development initiatives for our Asset Listing team. The primary goal of this role is to expand our crypto listings with the right projects by building a robust pipeline. You’ll identify new business opportunities through both inbound and outbound strategies, scouting the crypto landscape—including VCs, early-stage investors, accelerators, and foundations—to discover the next token that will disrupt the industry.

Ultimately, working alongside engineers, product managers, compliance professionals, and the rest of the team, you will onboard new clients and expand Kraken’s offerings. Reporting to a Senior Manager, this individual contributor role offers a unique opportunity for a motivated sales professional eager to shape the future of crypto while working with a top-tier brand.

The opportunity

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to expand Kraken’s Asset Listings business.

  • Manage external business partners to drive partnerships and new product development, including Market Makers, VCs, early-stage investors, accelerators, foundations, and project teams.

  • Collaborate with the team to source new inbound opportunities and identify prospective partners through outbound activities, leveraging your network, industry events, and other outreach strategies.

  • Evaluate partnership opportunities using both bottom-up and top-down approaches, applying critical thinking and creativity to develop unique solutions.

  • Prioritize and manage the business development pipeline, focusing on high-impact opportunities while ensuring accountability and consistent progress.

  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging projects, and all things crypto-related, and propose innovative ways to refine and enhance our strategy.

Skills you should HODL

  • You have 5+ years of experience in a business development role, with a proven track record of generating new business regardless of market conditions, including at least 2 years of experience within the crypto industry.

  • Experience in the asset listing process within a digital asset exchange.

  • With a commercial mindset, you excel at driving business growth and producing results autonomously with minimal oversight.

  • As a complete degen, you have a deep knowledge and understanding of cryptocurrency ecosystems, including its players, frameworks, and market dynamics beyond blue-chip tokens.

  • Passion about the cryptocurrency world and most importantly a learning attitude about new crypto-industry trends.

  • A robust personal network within the crypto industry—particularly with a focus on new crypto projects, accelerators, VCs, and market makers—is a plus.

  • Believe wholeheartedly in the cypherpunk, libertarian values outlined in Kraken’s Tentaclements document.

  • You have the ability to build meaningful partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders across all levels and backgrounds.

  • Participate in industry events and conferences to generate leads and enhance Kraken’s brand presence.

  • You are based in the US, UK, or continental Europe and thrive in a remote-first company environment.
