The role involves platform administration, customization, optimization, user support, training, process improvements, reporting, compliance, and security. The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience as an Atlassian Administrator with a strong focus on Jira and Confluence.
The Atlassian Administrator will be responsible for the administration, configuration, maintenance and optimization of all Atlassian products. This role will ensure that all Atlassian products operate efficiently, meet organizational needs and support business objectives across many departments. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise, process improvement skills, and the ability to work closely with multiple teams to better improve processes and functionality.
Essential Tasks
Platform Administration:
Manage and maintain SAAS Atlassian tools, including Jira, Jira Service Management (JSM), Confluence and related plugins
Monitor system performance, upgrades, licenses and ensure system availability and scalability
Implement and enforce governance, permissions, and security standards
Customization and Optimization:
Create and maintain dashboards, reports and metrics to track and measure key performance indicators
Configure and manage incident, problem, and change management processes
Design and build asset schemas
Improve content management and team collaboration in Confluence
Implement integrations with other systems and tools (e.g., LogicMonitor, Salesforce, Simplesat)
User Support and Training:
Provide technical support for Atlassian users
Conduct training sessions and create user documentation
Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams and business units for Atlassian-related matters
Process Improvements:
Work with department stakeholders to improve project management workflows
Analyze current configuration and recommend optimizations
Stay informed about new Atlassian product features
Reporting and Analytics:
Create and manage custom reports and dashboards
Analyze data to identify trends and insights that can improve performance
Compliance and Security:
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
Collaborate with the IT security team to maintain a secure environment for Atlassian products
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
6+ years of experience as an Atlassian Administrator, with a strong focus on Jira and Confluence
Proven experience in customizing workflows, schemes, and dashboards
Experience with scripting languages, custom script writing, and automation tools (e.g., Jira Automation, Groovy, ScriptRunner)
Experience implementing ITIL or other IT service management frameworks
Deep understanding of Atlassian best practices and architecture
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
The pay range for this position is $75,000-88,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, geographic location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus in addition to a full range of benefits.
