Job Summary

Nava is a consultancy and public benefit corporation working to make government services simple, effective, and accessible to all. As a business development team member, you will contribute directly to Nava's mission by finding, analyzing, and prioritizing new opportunities for the company across all levels of government. You will research, analyze, and present on government procurement opportunities, conduct competitive market research, and identify areas where Nava can make a positive impact. The role requires experience in business development, opportunity tracking, and analysis, as well as an adaptive, empathetic, collaborative, and positive mindset. Nava offers competitive benefits, flexible work arrangements, and opportunities for growth and development.

About Nava

Nava is a consultancy and public benefit corporation working to make government services simple, effective, and accessible to all. Since 2013, federal, state, and local government agencies have trusted Nava to build transformative digital services to help people access public benefits. Meeting our mission is an opportunity to restore trust between people and public institutions. We focus on populations that are the least protected because the stakes are higher.

As a client services company, we work with government agencies to improve how people apply for benefits, navigate their health care, and more. We bill for our time, selling our expertise and problem-solving methodology to government clients. Our clients hire us to help improve their products and services so that their users and beneficiaries have a better customer experience.

These end-users—the humans who benefit from our work—are at the core of everything we do. We research beneficiaries’ needs to help our government clients better deliver on their missions, providing everyone at Nava opportunities to do meaningful, impactful work.

Position type: Full time, exempt

Position Summary

You have experience helping companies grow by providing execution at the intersection of analysis, growth strategy and growth operations. You understand the business reasons behind existing processes and iterate to improve the outcomes you deliver. As you work you think about how your contributions fit into the larger picture and how to make your work clearer, and more easily consumed.

You are a strategic thinker, excel at pattern matching across disparate types and sets of information, and are an excellent communicator. You approach your work with an outcomes-oriented mindset, and make thoughtful decisions while considering their impact across multiple teams, both internally and externally. You balance the need for a rigorous, methodical approach with a practical mindset.

Most of all, you’re excited about increasing Nava's impact by helping us find, understand and prioritize new opportunities.

  • Grow and mature Nava's strategic practice while promoting trust, personal growth, diversity, and inclusion.

Required Skills

  • Ability to learn quickly, stay informed and deliver insightful analyses of new opportunities.

  • Experience: At least one year of experience in Business Development (BD) in the federal government or state government space.
