Are you a high-performing Product Manager expert with a passion for driving product excellence? Do you want to work for a best-in-class, 100% remote organization with the brightest talent from around the world? If so, then keep reading…
Sparkrock helps social benefit organizations like nonprofits, school boards, and government agencies to reach their greatest potential using technology. We help to make these mission-driven organizations more efficient, freeing up their time and resources to focus on the good they want to achieve. Every day, nearly 45,000 people use our ERP products to make the world a better place.
As a Commercial Product Manager, you will define the product roadmap for ERP and back-office solutions that streamline finance and HR operations for K12 school districts and nonprofit organizations. This role goes beyond traditional product management by focusing on delivering solutions that directly enable K12 schools and non-profits to achieve their missions—improving student outcomes, advancing communities, and supporting causes—rather than just managing systems and workflows.
You’ll have the opportunity to shape ERP and back-office solutions that make a meaningful impact, helping K12 schools focus on student success and non-profits drive their missions forward. You’ll also be exploring innovative AI solutions to significantly improve productivity for ERP users, giving them valuable time back for things that are more important to their organization’s mission.
If you prefer working on highly abstract or trendy tech products without deep customer engagement, this role may not be a fit. The focus here is on practical solutions for critical operational challenges, requiring a commitment to understanding complex workflows and balancing customer needs with product trade-offs.
Instead, if you’re passionate about solving real-world problems, creating efficiency, and empowering organizations to do more of what truly matters, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

*Customer Research & Feedback: Engage directly with customers to understand pain points, workflows, and success metrics.
*Roadmap Definition: Prioritize initiatives based on customer needs, business value, and technical feasibility.
*Stakeholder Alignment: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure clarity, buy-in, and execution against roadmap goals.
*Market Analysis: Stay ahead of trends in ERP, finance, HR, and education/non-profit operations to position the product competitively.
*Product Planning & Refinement: Define clear requirements, user stories, and success criteria for each feature or initiative.
*Performance Measurement: Use KPIs and customer adoption metrics to evaluate product success and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

Education
*Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
*MBA or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Pragmatic Product Management, or certifications in ERP systems like Microsoft Dynamics Business Central) are a plus.

Core Skills and Experience

*5+ years of experience in product management, business analysis, or ERP/enterprise solutions roles.
*2+ years of experience working with products in K12, non-profit, or back-office ERP solutions is preferred.
*Ability to define, prioritize, and execute on a roadmap for ERP and back-office solutions.
*Strong skills in gathering and analyzing customer requirements to solve real operational challenges.
*Proficiency in identifying trends, opportunities, and competitive insights to inform decisions.
*Ability to understand technical systems, including ERP platforms, financial workflows, and HR processes.
*Proven ability to align stakeholders, including engineering, sales, and marketing teams, to deliver results.
*Experience creating clear product requirements, user stories, and success criteria for development teams.
*Ability to use precise words and simple sentences to explain a problem and solution. Ability to draw simple block diagrams to show solutions.

Tools usage

*Experience with ERP solutions such as Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (preferred) or similar platforms (NetSuite, Workday, etc.).
*Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or Trello for managing backlogs and sprints.
*Proficiency with tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel for analyzing trends and metrics.
*Microsoft Teams, Slack, Confluence, and other tools for communication and documentation.

Soft skills

*Customer Empathy: Deep understanding of the challenges faced by K12 schools and non-profits and a passion for solving meaningful problems.
*Strategic Thinker: Ability to see the big picture while driving detailed execution.
*Analytical Mindset: Driven by data and insights to make informed decisions.
*Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities.
*Collaboration & Influence: Strong interpersonal skills to align stakeholders and drive initiatives forward.
*Accountability: Ownership of outcomes and a focus on delivering measurable impact.
*Strong Communication: Ability to simplify complex ideas and articulate them clearly to diverse audiences.

Nice to have

*Experience in the K12 education sector or non-profit operations.
*Familiarity with financial workflows (GL, AP/AR, payroll) and HR processes.
*Certifications in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, NetSuite, or Workday.
*Experience implementing or managing ERP products for mid-sized organizations.
*Exposure to Agile/Scrum product development methodologies.
*Understanding of the unique regulatory or funding challenges in K12 and non-profit sectors in USA and Canada.
