Airalo is looking for a talented Data Director to join our team and support our rapid growth as we expand into multiple additional global markets, while building our B2B & B2B2C offerings. In this role, you will have the opportunity to be one of the first Data leaders to join Airalo, hence defining our vision & team structure moving forward. The ideal candidate should have similar experiences implementing rapid growth structures from scratch & possess a strong passion for Tech, Travel & Telecommunications.
As a Data Director you will be responsible for ensuring that we have data at the heart of everything we do. You will create, build, maintain and implement the team’s strategy, vision, roadmap initiatives and projects. You will oversee a team of data analysts, data scientists, and data engineers. You will be collaborating with various business functions such as Growth, Product, Finance, and Networks.

Responsibilities:

    • Define and execute the company’s data strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives
    • Foster a data-driven culture, advocating for the effective use of data across the organization
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive strategic initiatives and support decision-making with data-driven insights
    • Continuously assess and improve data architecture and analytics capabilities
    • Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of data pipelines, integrations, and storage solutions
    • Define, automate, launch and maintain dashboards for key departmental metrics, ensuring data is updated at least daily
    • Build a robust, streamlined digital analytics ecosystem to simplify maintenance, improve efficiency, and accelerate time to insights
    • Enhance data governance and management processes to ensure data reliability, accessibility, and compliance
    • Define and build an A/B testing strategy and platform to set up structured A/B testing plan and run structured tests / randomized control trials
    • Utilize data to develop tools for monthly, annual and long term forecasting and planning
    • Launch a data literacy program to empower employees with foundational data skills and promote a culture of data-driven decision-making

Requirements:

    • 10+ years in product analytics with leadership experience managing teams
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into actionable data solutions
    • Expertise in A/B testing, experimental design, and product performance monitoring
    • Strong technical knowledge of data integrations, ETL, data warehouse & data modeling
    • Understanding of data governance best practices and experience in developing structured reporting and documentation
    • Proficiency in SQL and Python

Good-to-have:

    • Experience working with internet and technology companies
    • Experience working with Telco, MNOs & MNVOs
