Who we are is what we do.

Deel and our family of growing companies are made up of global teams dedicated to helping businesses hire anyone, anywhere, easily.

The team comprises over three thousand self-driven individuals spanning over 100 countries, and our unified yet diverse culture keeps us continually learning and innovating the platform and products for customers.

Companies should be able to hire the best talent anywhere in the world, so we are building the best platform to make that a reality. Our market-leading technology, expertise, and global team are crucial to the platform’s success. We deliver the best products and features in our space, enabling millions of jobs worldwide and connecting the global workforce with the best companies and opportunities.

Why should you be part of our success story?

A 30-mile hiring radius should no longer dictate how companies hire because exceptional talent lives everywhere. Deel sees a world without hiring borders and endless talent that pairs perfect candidates with great companies.

We offer global teams all the tools they need to hire, onboard, manage, pay, and scale at full speed. We aim to foster a diverse global economy by building a generational platform that seamlessly connects companies with talent worldwide.

After our successful Series D in 2021, we raised another $50M in 2023, doubling our valuation to $12B. There’s never been a more exciting time to join Deel — the international payroll and compliance market leader.

The Team

The Data Platform team at Deel is dedicated to enhancing data quality, optimizing pipeline performance, building robust platform tools, and managing costs across the entire data stack—from ingestion to outbound integrations and everything in between. As a Data Engineer on this team, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the future of Deel’s data infrastructure, ensuring it scales effectively with 30+ Analytics Engineers and 100+ data professionals embedded across the organization.

Our team collaborates cross-functionally with analysts, analytics engineers, data scientists, software engineers, and leadership to achieve these goals.

Your Role as a Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer on the Data Platform team, you will:

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable and efficient data pipelines using tools like Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, and Fivetran. Experience with similar technologies is also valued as we continuously evolve our stack.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that align with business needs.
  • Implement and enforce robust data governance policies to maintain data integrity, quality, and security.
  • Develop and maintain ELT processes to extract, load, and transform data from diverse sources into the data warehouse in both batch and streaming fashion.
  • Optimize SQL queries to enhance data analysis and reporting.
  • Partner with data analysts, data scientists, analytics engineers, and stakeholders to understand data workflows and provide technical support.
  • Diagnose and resolve data-related issues promptly.
  • Build a cutting-edge development environment and CI/CD system to ensure scalability and efficiency.
  • Ingest data from various external systems via APIs.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement in data engineering practices.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with Golang or JVM-based languages is a plus.
  • Data Warehousing: Hands-on experience with cloud-based data warehouses.
  • Data Modeling: Proficiency in designing efficient database schemas.
  • Workflow Orchestration: Familiarity with tools like Apache Airflow.
  • Data Streaming: Experience with data streaming and Change Data Capture (CDC).
  • Infrastructure: Proficiency in Terraform and GitHub Actions.
  • Compliance: Experience in setting up PII anonymization and RBAC.
  • Collaboration: Strong ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

  • Kubernetes: Experience with Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Data Warehouse Administration: Prior experience managing data warehouses is advantageous.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with GDPR or similar data privacy regulations is beneficial.

Join us in building a world-class data platform that drives actionable insights and scales with Deel’s rapidly growing business.
