Monarch Money
Monarch is a financial management company that empowers users to take control of their finances. As an early Design Engineer at Monarch, you'll work closely with the design team to brainstorm and build feature enhancements and new user experiences. You'll own creating a refined, polished experience across both desktop and mobile platforms, while also developing a design system empowering engineers to maintain this high level of polish. With flexible remote work options, competitive cash and equity compensation, and unlimited PTO, Monarch offers a great work-life balance. As part of a small team environment, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with passionate colleagues and contribute to groundbreaking projects. With a focus on user experience and industry trends, this role is ideal for experienced Design Engineers or UX/UI engineers looking for a new challenge.
Monarch came out of private beta in early 2021. Since that time we have quickly become one of the premier ways to manage your financial life. Customers love the product and we have seen rapid, organic growth. Our users say that Monarch helps them feel more confident in their finances, and more confident in their financial future.
Our founding team consists of product-driven, serial entrepreneurs with multiple exits. Additionally, our CEO was one of the original creators of Mint.com and has a unique perspective on what is needed to meet consumers' needs in this market.
We are passionate about building a company, product and brand that both customers and employees love. We are well-funded by top venture firms and angel investors.
We founded the company as a fully-remote team (pre Covid!) and are open to applicants that live within a 5 hour time zone difference of US Pacific Time.
This role is crucial for growing and evolving our web and mobile apps, focusing primarily on frontend and UI (React/React Native/ Typescript) while occasionally willing to jump into the backend code (Python / Django) as needed. This role involves close collaboration with product, design, and engineering teams to ensure we are building a world class user experience, always keeping our users in mind. You will typically work with a lot of autonomy, and be expected to 'own' the full implementation of whatever you work on.
