Engineering Manager

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead one of our cross-functional engineering teams. The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology, team growth, and driving engineering excellence. 

As an Engineering manager you will be accountable for the health of systems, planning and quality of delivery in the team, ensuring great technical decisions, shaping engineering strategy, driving improvements in engineering practices, and supporting team members throughout their journey with the company.

About the team

We are the product and engineering team responsible for Yoga-Go. We help improve the health and wellbeing of millions of people around the world by providing them with the best environment to practice yoga and related soothing activities for both the body and mind, at home.

Yoga-Go is one of the top apps worldwide in its category, but we aim to enhance it further. We are embarking on a mission to elevate Yoga-Go, transforming it into an even more immersive and highly personalized workout experience unmatched anywhere else. To realize this vision, we face numerous product and technical challenges. Therefore, we are seeking ambitious, product-minded engineers and engineering leaders to join us on this journey!

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Operations of a cross-functional engineering team (30-50%)

• Ensure team health and performance across various metrics (Team & Org Health, Quality-of-Service, Product/Business, Dev Performance, Data Quality, Cost).

• Proactively identify and address risks and blockers.

• Drive improvements in practices, processes, and ways of working.

• Support team growth through onboarding, feedback, coaching, and performance management.

• Oversee the hiring process for the team.

Strategy, Planning, and Alignment (40-50%)

• Align team vision, mission, and strategy with Product Manager(s).

• Collaborate with Product and Project Managers on goal setting, roadmap planning, and execution.

• Align teams on strategy and manage stakeholder expectations.

Designing & Building Software (0-20%)

• Stay close to technical details to lead operations and ensure quality.

• Participate in system design, architecture reviews, and key technical decisions without being on the critical path of delivery.

Key Requirements:

• Proven impact as an Engineering Manager or equivalent role, leading cross-functional engineering teams.

• Passion for simplicity, efficiency, and enhanced performance with a pragmatic approach.

• Strong skills in managing partnerships and resolving conflicts.

• Expertise in addressing technology-related challenges similar to those faced by our team.

• Robust background in technical fundamentals, including Software Engineering/DevOps/Cloud Solutions.

• Ability to manage engineering teams and scale system components worldwide.

• Structured, analytical approach with a solid understanding of Agile methodologies and frameworks.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities.

• Professional working proficiency in English.
