The role involves designing and operating scalable, secure, and cost-optimized systems across AWS and GCP, championing developer self-service, and ensuring operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in software engineering or cloud platform roles, with expertise in Kubernetes, AWS/GCP infrastructure, and databases. They should also possess strong knowledge of DevOps practices, infrastructure-as-code tools, observability platforms, and SLO-driven reliability management. Signifyd offers a range of benefits, including stock options, annual performance bonus, pension matching, and flexible remote work options.

Are you ready to lead a high-impact team transforming cloud infrastructure and driving innovation? At Signifyd, we’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Cloud Platform team. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of our cloud platform, championing developer self-service, and ensuring operational excellence. You’ll have the opportunity to build scalable, secure, and cost-optimized systems across AWS and GCP, empower teams with tools to innovate faster and drive reliability through 24/7 monitoring. If you’re passionate about creating high-leverage platforms and fostering a culture of growth and innovation, this is your opportunity to make a difference.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the development of a scalable, secure, and cost-optimized cloud platform across AWS and GCP.
  • Provide technical leadership for designing and operating Kubernetes clusters and cloud-native services, focusing on scalability, security, cost-effectiveness, and standardization.
  • Champion developer self-service by building tools and frameworks that empower teams to deploy and manage infrastructure independently.
  • Define and measure developer productivity using frameworks like DORA and SPACE while leveraging AI-powered solutions to optimize workflows.
  • Establish and manage a robust 24/7 monitoring strategy, ensuring all critical systems meet defined SLOs for reliability, performance, and security.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to define roadmaps and deliver high-priority projects directly impacting business outcomes.
  • Own relationships with cloud service providers to ensure cost-effective usage and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Optimize cloud spend through FinOps practices while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Advocate for architectural best practices in cloud platform development across the engineering organization.
  • Mentor and grow a high-performing team of engineers while fostering an inclusive culture of innovation.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking candidates passionate about technology, leadership, and innovation. Ideal qualifications include:

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering or cloud platform roles, with 2+ years in technical leadership or management.
  • Expertise in Kubernetes, AWS/GCP infrastructure, and databases (e.g., MySQL, DynamoDB, Cassandra).
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform/Pulumi), observability platforms (Datadog, CloudWatch), and SLO-driven reliability management.
  • Experience leveraging AI-powered tools to improve operational efficiency and drive operational excellence.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing efficient 24/7 monitoring systems and processes that ensure reliability at scale.
  • Proven ability to build and lead distributed teams across geographies while fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Excellent communication skills with a track record of mentoring engineers.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity and creating an inclusive and safe work environment.
