Welocalize is seeking a Freelance Multimedia Content Reviewer to review, localize, and adapt video, music, apps, fitness, and sports content from English to French. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in linguistic, journalism, copywriting, or copy-editing media content with proof of writing samples. They should be native-level fluent in French, possess excellent grammar and writing skills, and strong creative writing, proofreading, and editing skills. The role requires tech savvy knowledge of computers, mobile devices, and software applications, as well as the ability to work independently and remotely. Welocalize delivers multilingual content transformation services for over 250 languages with a growing network of in-country linguistic resources. The project duration is open-ended, and the expected capacity is 5-15 hours per week at $26 USD per hour. Freelancers will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement, complete a project-specific assessment, and participate in an interview with Project Managers before being offered the position.

Duties and responsibilities:

Review, localize, fact check, translate and adapt Video, Music, Apps, Fitness and Sports content from English to French, while adhering to writing style guides and guidelines; –
Conduct market-specific research on local content, product and terminology trends, and best localization practices for the target audience in their market;
Provide feedback on written content by others

Requirements:

BS/BA and 2+ years of work experience in the field of linguistic, journalism, copywriting, or copy-editing media content with proof of writing samples;
Knowledge of either movies, series, music, apps, games, fitness or sports
Experience in translation and localization of multimedia content;
Native-level fluency in French;
Excellent grammar and writing skills in French;
Strong creative writing, proofreading, and editing skills in French;
Tech savvy: strong practical knowledge of computers and mobile devices, Word processors, spreadsheets, touch-typing expertise, digital presentations, search engine knowledge, keyboard shortcuts, virtual conferences, and social media;
Knowledge of iOS/MacOS systems;
Owning licensed version of MS Office apps;
Ability to work independently and remotely;
Collaborative; enjoys teamwork in a multicultural environment.
