As a French Linguist, you will perform quality control tasks, transcreation tasks, and on-demand translation tasks on assigned accounts/projects. You will coordinate the activities of translators and ensure that work is performed at a high standard within specified deadlines and quality level. Your responsibilities will include managing project-related queries, preparing and maintaining language materials, interacting with clients, developing and training new freelancers, and participating in process development. To be successful, you must have a university degree in Translation/Applied Languages, fluent French and English, experience as a translator, and excellent communication skills. Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS
- University degree in Translation/Applied Languages and related experience as translator and/or reviewer of 3+ years
- Fluent in French (native level), both written and spoken, fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Experienced as a translator in : Mobile Apps, Search Engines, IT Consumer products, Entertainment, Marketing, Software UI, Websites
- Excellent feel for language (source/target)
- Excellent knowledge of terminology in the following subject matters: IT consumer products, social media, entertainment
- Thorough understanding of the localization process.
- Excellent user experience of standard software, such as Windows and Office applications, and standard CAT tools (e.g. SDL Studio) and issue tracking and query management tools, e.g. JIRA
- Ability to learn new localization tools and applications quickly.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with tight deadlines.
- Ability to give clear, concise and constructive feedback. Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, translators.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability and willingness to train/teach others and pass on knowledge.
- Ability, willingness and experience in communicating positively with customers at various levels
- Ability to work in a virtual team.
