Job Summary
Welocalize is seeking a Quality Control Specialist for Hebrew to join their growing team. The selected candidate will perform rigorous quality control checks on translated documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to client-specific guidelines. This role involves reviewing and verifying the formatting, layout, and non-linguistic elements of documents in Hebrew, utilizing CAT tools such as XTM/Phrase/Trados/MemoQ, and working closely with project management teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality translations. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 6 months of experience in localization, with a focus on quality assurance and quality control, and is proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly the Track Changes function in Word. Advanced level in English (C1 or higher) and native knowledge of Hebrew are required. This is a remote position that requires at least 4-5 hours of availability per day.
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Quality Control (QC): Perform rigorous quality control checks on translated documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to client-specific guidelines.
- Non-Linguistic QC: Review and verify the formatting, layout, and non-linguistic elements of documents in Hebrew.
- Content Specialization: Handle specialized content areas such as In Vitro Diagnostics, Biology, Chemistry, Medical Devices, Patient-facing materials, Pharmacovigilance, Pharmacy, Scientific Publications, and Investigator-facing documents.
- CAT Tools: Utilize CAT tools such as XTM/Phrase/Trados/MemoQ to carry out QC tasks. Familiarity with integrated QA checks within these tools is essential.
- Client-Specific Applications: Adhere to the specific requirements of client-provided applications and tools.
- Capacity Management: Ensure daily full-time availability and maintain the expected capacity of reviewing 5,000+ weighted words per locale, per week, able to work on Fridays.
- Documentation: Use Microsoft Office, particularly the Track Changes function in Word, to document and communicate QC findings.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the project management team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality translations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in localization, with a focus on quality assurance and quality control.
- Experience with CAT tools (XTM, Trados, MemoQ, Phrase, or similar). No OmegaT, as it is considered obsolete.
- Experience with QA tools like Xbench, Verifika, or integrated QA checks within CAT tools.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a particular focus on the Track Changes function in Word.
- Language Skills: Advanced level in English (C1 or higher), with native knowledge of Hebrew
- Location: Remote
- Availability: Must be able to commit to at least 4-5 hours of availability per day. Part-time is non-considerable.
