LCA Expert

Makersite GmbH

Job Summary

Makersite is a pioneering platform for sustainable product development and digital collaboration. As an LCA Expert, you'll guide customers on using their software for Life Cycle Assessments, interpret results, optimize sustainability strategies, and comply with industry standards. You'll work closely with top global companies to improve their environmental impact and contribute to the company's mission-driven team. With a flexible remote-friendly work culture, generous learning & development budget, and competitive salary, Makersite offers a unique opportunity for growth and impact. Join a dynamic team at the forefront of sustainable innovation and make a difference in the world.

At Makersite, we're pioneering the future of sustainable product development and digital collaboration. As a leading platform for product lifecycle management (PLM), we empower companies to make smarter, more sustainable decisions across their entire supply chain. Our cutting-edge software enables teams to design, prototype, and manufacture with transparency, efficiency, and responsibility—reducing environmental impact while optimizing performance.

We're a fast-growing, innovative company that thrives on creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning. If you're passionate about technology, sustainability, and creating meaningful impact, we’d love to hear from you. Join us and be a part of shaping the future of manufacturing and product innovation.

Who we're looking for:

As part of our growing team, you will play a key role in shaping the future of sustainable product development. We’re looking for innovative, driven LCA Expert who are passionate about technology and sustainability to join us in building tools that enable companies to make smarter, more responsible decisions. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with talented professionals, contribute to cutting-edge projects, and help drive the digital transformation of industries worldwide. If you're ready to make an impact and contribute to meaningful change, we want to hear from you!

As an LCA Expert, you will serve as a trusted advisor to our customers, helping them integrate LCA best practices into their workflows using our cutting-edge software. This is a customer-facing role focused on ensuring that companies can easily adopt, utilize, and maximize the value of our platform to assess and reduce environmental impact. Instead of conducting LCA studies manually, you will enable businesses to transition from traditional, time-consuming methods to an automated, software-driven approach

This role is a fixed, permanent position. All successful applicants will receive a permanent employment contract regardless of location. Successful applicants will be expected to work East Coast hours.

The role:

  • Customer Enablement – Guide customers on how to effectively use our software for Life Cycle Assessments, eliminating the need for manual calculations.

  • LCA Consultation – Act as an expert resource, helping customers interpret LCA results, optimize sustainability strategies, and comply with industry standards.

  • Onboarding & Training – Deliver hands-on training, workshops, and best-practice guidance to ensure successful adoption of our platform.

  • Workflow Optimization – Help businesses transition from traditional LCA methods to automated, software-driven processes, improving efficiency and accuracy.

  • Product Feedback & Collaboration – Work closely with product and engineering teams to refine our platform based on user needs and industry trends.

  • Sustainability Insights & Reporting – Support customers in generating automated sustainability reports for compliance, internal strategy, and stakeholder communication.

  • Thought Leadership – Stay ahead of LCA advancements and represent the company in industry discussions, webinars, and customer advisory sessions.

  • LCA & Sustainability Expertise – Strong knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (ISO 14040/44), carbon footprinting, and environmental impact assessment.

  • Software & Data Experience – Comfortable using and guiding others on LCA tools and SaaS platforms, ensuring customers can extract maximum value.

  • Customer-Focused Mindset – Experience in a consultative, customer-facing role (e.g., sustainability consulting, customer success, or technical support).

  • Analytical Skills – Ability to interpret LCA outputs, identify impact hotspots, and provide actionable sustainability recommendations.

  • Educational Background – Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Communication & Training – Strong ability to explain complex concepts simply, engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and provide hands-on training.

  • Project & Stakeholder Management – Ability to manage multiple customer relationships and ensure timely delivery of solutions.

  • Industry Experience (preferred) – Experience working with manufacturing, consumer goods, or supply chain industries on sustainability initiatives.

  • Residing in and legally permitted to work in the US (Chicago or East Coast Specific).

Why Join Us?

  • Play a key role in scaling sustainability efforts by making LCA more accessible through software.

  • Work closely with top global companies looking to improve their environmental impact.

  • Join a dynamic, mission-driven team at the forefront of sustainable innovation.

  • Enjoy a flexible, remote-friendly work culture with opportunities for growth.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive Salary – We reward your skills and experience with a compensation package that reflects your value.

  • 30 Days Paid Time Off – Take the time you need to recharge and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

  • Remote-First Flexibility – Work from anywhere in the EU, with the option to collaborate in person at our offices in Stuttgart, Berlin (role dependent).

  • Generous Learning & Development Budget – We invest in your growth, providing ample resources for personal and professional development.

  • Choose Your Ideal Work Equipment – Whether you prefer Apple or Microsoft, we’ll equip you with the tools you need to excel.

The Experience:

  • Purpose-Driven Work – Build something meaningful. Here, you’re not just creating another app; you’re contributing to a transformative vision that you can be proud of.

  • Great Colleagues – Join a team that’s open, transparent, and international. We value inclusivity and foster a culture of collaboration and mutual respect.

  • Work-Life Balance – As a remote-first company, we trust you to do your best work, your way. You have the flexibility to work when it suits you, ensuring a healthy balance between personal and professional life.

  • Pride in Impact – We're already making a significant difference with global, well-known customers who share our vision. Be part of something that matters.

  • Stability with Ambition – With realistic growth plans, we’re committed to changing the way things are made—without sacrificing our ambitious goals for innovation and impact.
