Job Summary
Rackspace is seeking a highly skilled Lead Cloud Engineer to oversee and coordinate the technical aspects of their cloud infrastructure and DevOps requirements. The successful candidate will work with customers' engineering teams on various projects, implement automation/DevOps best practices, and collaborate with fellow Rackers and customer key stakeholders to deliver projects. They will also serve as a technical advisor and perform troubleshooting to resolve technical challenges for customers. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of combined technical support experience, expert-level knowledge of AWS and Azure, and familiarity with GCP. They should be familiar with cloud migrations from on-prem to cloud, administration experience with Windows and Linux Servers, and experienced with DevOps, CI/CD deployments, and Kubernetes. Rackspace offers a competitive salary range of $116,100 - $170,280, plus variable compensation in the form of bonus, commissions, or other discretionary payments. The role is remote and full-time.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating the technical, peripheral, and management aspects of our cloud infrastructure and DevOps requirements.
- Identify and address product bugs, deficiencies, and performance bottlenecks.
- Work with customers engineering teams on a wide variety of projects.
- Implement automation/DevOps best practices for CI/CD, IaC, Containerization, etc.
- Perform Linux/Windows administration, automated deployments, scripting (Bash/PowerShell/Python).
- Collaborate with fellow Rackers and customer key stakeholders to deliver projects, such as implementing Cloud-based technical architectures, executing migrations, and optimizing applications that enable business objectives.
- Serve as a technical advisor and perform troubleshooting to resolve technical challenges for customers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field required, master’s degree preferred. Additional experience may substitute for the degree requirement at a rate of 3 years of experience for 1 year of education.
- AWS Solutions Architect certification is preferred.
- 7+ years of combined technical support experience
- Expert level knowledge of AWS and Azure.
- Familiarity with GCP.
- Experience working in a project environment, in a supplier, vendor or consultant capacity.
- Experience with cloud migrations from onprem -> cloud.
- Administration experience with both Windows and Linux Servers.
- Experienced with cloud monitoring tools such as service now.
- Experienced with DevOps, CI/CD deployments, and Kubernetes.
