We are seeking an ML Intern to support Loka's certified specialists, technical experts, and PhDs in developing models that achieve business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Python ML and Data libraries, statistical algorithms, and deep learning concepts. As a remote intern, you'll enjoy flexible work arrangements and every other Friday off. You'll also have the opportunity to build a portfolio, launch projects, and contribute to groundbreaking GenAI projects. Job Description
In the last year at Loka, our teams have launched almost 200 GenAI projects for companies of all kinds, ranging from the worldâs Number 1 GenAI reading tutor to a startup that transforms homes into batteries to a leading cancer-fighting laboratory. And we did it all while enjoying every other Friday off đ
As a ML and GenAI intern, you'll gain on-the-job experience supporting Lokaâs certified specialists, technical experts and PhDs while elevating your skillset, building a portfolio and launching projects youâre proud of.
The Role
- Understand business objectives and develop models that help achieve them, plus metrics to track their progress.
- Implement ML systems using classical ML, DL and Foundation Models following best practices.
- Participate in client communications by helping gather requirements and communicate deliverables.
- Explore and visualize data with a careful eye for issues that require data cleaning as well as differences in data distribution that may affect performance after deployment.
- Identify and analyze model errors.Â

The Required Hard Skills
- Last year of a bachelorâs degree in Computer Science or related
- Proficient in English
- Basic knowledge of Python ML and Data librariesÂ
- Understanding of statistical, ML and deep learning algorithms (candidates with NLP knowledge preferred)
- Experience visualizing and manipulating big datasets
