About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Industrial Engineering Manager to lead and oversee our pharmacy and fulfillment operations team. In this role, you will take ownership of optimizing processes, improving operational efficiency, and maximizing productivity across multiple teams. As a leader, you will manage a team of industrial engineers, provide strategic direction, and collaborate with cross-functional departments to drive continuous improvement initiatives. You will play a key role in ensuring the scalability, efficiency, and quality of our operations while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
You Will:
Lead and manage a team of industrial engineers, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
Assign projects, monitor progress, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and teamwork across all levels.
Lead coordination calls with internal and external vendors for new build and retrofit relating to pharmacy or fulfillment
Conduct advanced analyses of processes and workflows within pharmacy and fulfillment operations, such as order processing, inventory management, dispensing, packaging, and shipping.
Develop and implement strategies to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance productivity and accuracy.
Drive cross-functional collaboration by partnering with pharmacists, technicians, logistics personnel, and management to identify improvement opportunities.
Develop and maintain workforce plans, including optimal staffing levels, workload distribution, and skill alignment.
Establish labor standards and performance metrics to track productivity and optimize resource utilization.
Collaborate with architects, facility managers, and operations leaders to design and optimize layouts of pharmacy and fulfillment centers either on new build or retrofit.
Apply principles of lean manufacturing, ergonomic design, and automation to improve safety, efficiency, and space utilization.
Lead projects for expansion or reorganization of facilities to support scaling operations.
Identify, evaluate, and oversee the implementation of advanced technology solutions, automation tools, and software systems to improve operational performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies.
Coordinate training and support for teams adopting new systems and tools.
Champion a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging employee engagement and innovation.
Develop and implement performance monitoring systems and KPIs to assess operational effectiveness and track the success of improvement initiatives.
Lead or participate in cross-functional projects aimed at achieving operational excellence.
You Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Minimum of 7+ years of proven experience in industrial engineering, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role managing teams in a pharmacy, fulfillment, retail, e-commerce, or healthcare setting.
Advanced knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies, with demonstrated success in implementing large-scale process improvements.
Expertise in sterile or non-sterile pharmacy operations is desirable and a plus
Expertise in process mapping, data analysis, and statistical tools.
Experience with facility layout design and optimization using software such as AutoCAD or SketchUp.
Familiarity with automation technologies (e.g., conveyance systems, AMRs) and related software.
Simulation software knowledge is a plus.
Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, inventory management, and regulatory compliance is highly desirable.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects, and influence stakeholders.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
