Job Summary

Asset Reality is seeking a qualified Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to join their team. The MLRO will be responsible for ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal controls set by the company and government entities. This role requires a proven track record in regulatory compliance within the fintech, financial, or regulatory sectors. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, 5+ years of experience in a previous regulatory or compliance managerial position, and strong knowledge or experience dealing with regulators and agencies. The MLRO will be responsible for providing oversight and management of compliance activities, including filing regulatory reports and responding to regulatory inquiries. They will also need to stay abreast of developments in the U.S. regulatory environment and licensing requirements, particularly related to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), FinCEN, OFAC, and sanctions rules. The MLRO will collaborate with internal teams to implement and enforce policies and procedures related to compliance and risk management, and support the Government in responding to external audit inquiries and regulatory requests for assets in the company's possession. Overview of Opportunity:

Asset Reality is seeking a qualified Money Laundering Reporting Officer (“MLRO”) to join our team. The MLRO will be responsible for ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal controls set by the company and government entities. This role requires a proven track record in regulatory compliance within the fintech, financial, or regulatory sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Is a US citizen

  • Provide oversight and management of compliance activities, including filing regulatory reports and responding to regulatory inquiries.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulators and agencies, such as FinCEN, OFAC, IRS, and other federal or state financial services regulatory bodies.

  • Stay abreast of developments in the U.S. regulatory environment and licensing requirements, particularly related to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), FinCEN, OFAC and sanctions rules.

  • Manage independent audits and regulatory examinations, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to implement and enforce policies and procedures related to compliance and risk management.

  • Support the Government in responding to external audit inquiries and regulatory requests for assets in the company's possession.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in a previous regulatory or compliance managerial position at a fintech, financial, or regulatory institution.

  • 3+ years providing compliance oversight, including filing regulatory reports.

  • Strong knowledge or experience dealing with regulators and agencies.

  • Comprehensive understanding of the U.S. regulatory environment, developments, and licensing requirements, especially concerning crypto assets.

  • In-depth experience managing independent audits and regulatory examinations.

  • Experience or interest in a fast-growing environment.

  • Ability to handle multiple regulatory domains and understand their interactions.

  • SME knowledge of anti-financial crime legislation, including AML, Sanctions, Fraud, and ABC.

  • Ability to maintain and manage senior stakeholder relationships.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Must Haves:

  • Prior experience working in the crypto industry.

  • ACAMS, International Compliance Association or equivalent compliance certification.

  • Knowledge of the BSA Travel Rule and its requirements
