The successful candidate will be deeply connected to the GCC music landscape, identifying new talent and emerging trends, and contribute to cross-functional projects. They must have strong writing skills, proficiency in Arabic and English, and a growth mindset.

Spotify’s Editorial team is looking for a passionate and music professional to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. If you have an expert ear for music, a deep understanding of the Saudi and GCC culture and music ecosystem, and a strong ability to blend data-driven insights with expertise, we’d love to hear from you.

In this role, you’ll curate and craft the music listening experience, programming playlists across moods, moments, and genres. You’ll play a key role in developing our editorial strategy for the GCC region—particularly in Saudi Arabia—while keeping a pulse on emerging trends, rising artists, and cultural moments. Your work will directly impact how audiences engage with music on Spotify.

What You'll Do

  • Curate and maintain Spotify editorial playlists, including hits, genre-specific, and mood/activity playlists

  • Develop and co-create editorial strategies for the GCC region, with a primary focus on Saudi Arabia

  • Analyze platform data to refine and improve playlist programming and overall editorial performance

  • Stay deeply connected to the GCC music landscape, identifying new talent and emerging trends

  • Translate music and cultural knowledge into engaging, relevant content for Spotify users

  • Lead and contribute to cross-functional projects, ensuring editorial decisions align with broader business and creative objectives

  • Identify and share cultural trends, news, and insights with internal teams to keep Spotify at the forefront of regional music movements

  • Listen across a diverse range of genres, identifying trends and programming opportunities

  • Use cultural expertise to innovate and expand Spotify’s programming efforts and local initiatives

  • Maintain an authentic and unbiased editorial voice to craft an outstanding user experience

Who You Are

  • You have a minimum of 4+ years of experience in music programming/curation, journalism, or a culture-focused role

  • You have experience developing editorial or curation strategies

  • You are deeply passionate about both current and historical music trends in the MENA region, with a strong focus on Saudi music

  • You have a comprehensive understanding of the Saudi music ecosystem, from mainstream to underground movements

  • You instinctively know what music fits different moments, moods, and cultural contexts

  • You have strong writing skills and can optimally translate music and cultural insights into engaging content

  • You are highly organized with strong project management skills

  • You are a phenomenal communicator and thrive in cross-functional collaboration

  • You understand and leverage data to advise decision-making

  • You are a dedicated Spotify user and fan, with an intuitive grasp of the platform

  • You are adaptable, proactive, and thrive in a fast-changing environment

  • You are proficient in both Arabic and English, with excellent written and spoken proficiency

  • This position is available through a third party and you will be based in Saudi Arabia
