We founded the company as a fully-remote team (pre Covid!) and are open to applicants that live within a 5 hour time zone difference of US Pacific Time.
Monarch is looking for a Product Designer (Senior/Staff) who is passionate about crafting high-quality user experiences and elevating the design of personal finance tools. In this role, you’ll spend the majority of your time designing and iterating on new features within the product. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product and engineering, and have opportunities to contribute strategically to Monarch’s design direction.
We are open on leveling at either Senior or Staff.
Design Excellence – Own end-to-end product design, ensuring a high bar for UI/UX through detailed execution in Figma.
User Research & Feedback – Occasionally conduct UX research with customers, test prototypes, and refine designs based on insights.
Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure seamless handoff and implementation of designs.
Strategic Impact – Within your first 90 days, get up to speed with Monarch’s design system, take ownership of new product design projects, and drive UX research when needed.
Experience: 4+ years in product design at a consumer-focused company.
Design Mastery: Strong visual design skills, attention to detail, and a systems-thinking approach.
Collaboration: Comfortable working closely with founders, product managers, and engineers in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Innovative Thinking (Bonus): Experience designing for 0-to-1 projects or consumer mobile apps is a plus.
Primary: Figma (for design and prototyping)
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have): HTML, CSS, React – while not required, familiarity with these technologies can help facilitate design collaboration.
