Job Description
In this role, you will:
- Oversee the planning, development, and launch of new product experiences that continuously raise the bar on quality, performance, and ambition.
- Set the product vision and strategy, partnering with Engineering, Design, Data Science, and others.
- Lead the planning, development, and launch of projects.
- Break down complex, behind-the-scenes projects into discrete phases that deliver value to clients and the business incrementally.
- Establish and own a variety of metrics related to performance and client outcomes
- Help elevate the Product Management practice at Wealthsimple and create an inclusive and supportive team culture.
- Talk directly to customers to uncover problems, identify unmet needs, and validate potential solutions.
Skills we are looking for:
- 2+ year track record of building and shipping products that customers love and produce business impact
- Demonstrated ability to own a complete product or large parts of an offering and lead large, complex, cross-functional projects.
- Curiosity and a thirst for learning. You dig deep into any problem you encounter until you’ve cracked the nut on what’s really important.
- A shipping mentality. We don't believe in spending forever analyzing and debating. The best way to validate something is to ship it — so let's ship it, learn, and iterate.
- Enough technical know-how to talk with engineers about architecture and technical considerations that impact a product, and a desire to learn what you don’t know to help drive decision-making.
- Analytical skills to pull your own data, analyze it, and draw meaningful insights from it.
- Experience gathering and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative inputs to inform prioritization decisions
- Discerning taste for what constitutes a great product experience
- Proven ability to turn complex problems into simple experiences.
- Strong understanding of how design, product and engineering can work together to ship high quality experiences quickly and at scale.
- Ability to effectively communicate ideas and project direction to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, biasing towards action to drive projects forward.
- Passion for stock trading
Nice to have:
- Experience working at a high-growth startup or as an entrepreneur
- A deep interest and passion for personal finance and how we might build simpler, more accessible services for everyone.
