About the role

As the ScriptRunner Product Marketing Team Lead, you will be responsible for the success of the Product Marketing Team through commercial success and team leadership and management. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping the strategic direction of product marketing efforts and aligning them with the broader business objectives.

As a key member of the ScriptRunner Marketing Leadership group, you will coordinate and align the product marketing strategy to the business unit strategy. This involves close collaboration with other functional leads, including the Engineering Leads, Product Management Lead, and UXD Lead. 

This role has a heavy focus on strategic initiatives, including overseeing and aiding in the creation of target personas, Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs), and sales enablement strategies to enhance market positioning and messaging. Management and leadership of the Product Marketing Team form a large part of the role, which includes, but  is not  limited to, mentoring, objective setting, best practice definition, and processes to streamline the different areas of product marketing. You will also be responsible for ensuring sharing of knowledge and creation of templates in order to improve the effectiveness of the team.

The Product Marketing Team Lead is responsible for monitoring and reporting on the team's targets & KPIs to the business unit leadership, as well as providing analysis and identifying remedial opportunities to any blockers to target attainment. Strong relationships and communication will need to be established and maintained with the shared services teams and the business unit Product teams, including product managers and product leadership.

What you'll be doing

  • Implement and maintain a consistent and impactful operating framework across the team and ensure adherence to the framework and successful outcomes

  • Maintain a high level of industry best practice and ways of working knowledge and use this to improve and adapt processes when appropriate

  • Share insights and knowledge with the team on the trends and changes in the markets and ecosystems

  • Assist with priority setting and KPIs for the product suite

  • Orchestrate and coordinate cross-departmental product discussions

  • Mentor, coach and develop a team of product marketers

  • Facilitate and enable collaboration and communication including conflict resolution

  • Align the team with marketing and ScriptRunner leadership team priorities

  • Ownership of team structure and the recruitment of new hires into the team

  • Lead the Discovery phase through to product lifecycle marketing as ScriptRunner grows its Atlassian portfolio, working closely with the Head of Marketing

  • Responsible for the Product Marketing budget, ensuring it’s being used as effectively as possible to drive awareness and adoption of our products

  • Monitor product performance indicators and work with the Product Marketing Managers to adjust strategies as required

  • Encourage consistent, innovative and creative product marketing research initiatives to the Product Marketing team to drive insights for the development process

  • Support the team to make changes to marketing activities based on a comparison of output from measurement and control systems and marketing strategy objectives

  • Coordinate product marketing initiatives across the product portfolio with the help of your team

  • Standardise processes between product marketing and other key stakeholders, e.g. sales, customer success and education

  • Aid the team in measuring markets, competitive landscapes, and business performance to identify trends and product and marketing opportunities

  • Find synergies between different product activities across the product portfolio

  • Assist the product marketing team with strategic initiatives

  • Ownership of suite-wide product marketing initiatives/messaging, whilst collaborating closely with the ScriptRunner Marketing Leadership team on delivery

  • Support the product marketing team on any other related work, e.g.  Positioning, Messaging, ICPs, Sales Enablement, GTM strategies, whilst establishing clear frameworks for the team to become more efficient

  • Demonstrable skills and experience of being an empathetic leader who is passionate about helping, coaching and inspiring colleagues
