Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) ensures Nextech products meet high standards of quality and functionality. This role involves building and executing test plans, creating detailed test cases and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional software. The QAE plays a critical role in driving product excellence by identifying and addressing software issues while promoting continuous improvement. 

All activities must be in compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity laws, HIPAA, ERISA and other regulations, as appropriate.  

Essential Functions

  • Perform exploratory, functional, and regression testing of Nextech products in an agile environment. 

  • Collaborate with R&D and Product teams to enhance product quality and enable rapid deployment. 

  • Create and maintainaccurate test plans and cases to ensure adequate test coverage. 

  • Troubleshoot and triage issues/bugs, working towards root cause identification and resolution. 

  • Document and follow up on bugs/issues during the testing process. 

  • Analyze test results, ensure correct functionality, and communicate resolutions to the team. 

  • Assist other departments by answering product-related questions and reproducing reported issues. 

  • Recommend continuous process improvements and provide regular testing status updates. 

  • Stay current with software quality assurance best practices and implement them effectively. 

  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned based on business needs. 

Minimum Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in technical or QA field

  • Proven work experience within the software industry related to software test engineering concepts and processes

  • Ability to work quickly and juggle many concurrent tasks eloquently

  • Ability to manage and execute test cases using test management tools (Zephyr)

  • Excellent communication, time management, organization skills, flexibility

  • Strong analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude

  • Eagerness for learning and a desire to stay up to date with software quality assurance best practices

  • Ability to implement test plans and test cases for ongoing development projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Microsoft SQL Server. 

  • ISTQB certification. 

  • Agile certification. 

  • Knowledge of healthcare systems and processes. 

  • Experience with testing in iOS environments. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or a related IT field.
