With 7+ years of experience in software/infrastructure/DevOps engineering, you will lead and collaborate on high-impact projects from proposal to post-mortem. You will also be part of the team's shared on-call rotation and responsible for triaging and resolving employee support requests related to infrastructure and DevOps. The compensation is $178,500 USD annually and stock options, with flexible remote work options and a focus on wellbeing.

Your Team and Role
Working on the CloudOps Functional Team, you'll accelerate projects across the company by providing infrastructure, tools, and processes that help DuckDuckGo team members build great products fast. Using Terraform, Chef/Ansible, Docker, Github actions, bash/perl, nginx, ELK, Grafana, Azure/AWS, and work on related projects. Recent projects include:
Migrate internal VMs to latest Ubuntu LTS
Dockerize applications
Stand up infrastructure necessary for greenfields projects, allowing developers to quickly interact and deploy with the environment.
As a Senior CloudOps Engineer, you'll combine Infrastructure Engineering and Developer Operations, offering the opportunity to collaborate with team members at all levels to provide cloud-based infrastructure, tooling, and automation that accelerates our objectives. You'll also be part of the team's shared on-call rotation and responsible for triaging and resolving employee support requests related to infrastructure and DevOps. You'll leverage your troubleshooting and debugging experience to solve problems, big and small.
About You
7+ years of experience in software/infrastructure/DevOps engineering.
Ability to lead and collaborate on high-impact and complex projects from proposal through post-mortem.
Skills to wrangle vague problems, propose innovative solutions, and execute them with a strong focus on metrics.
Intermediate programming ability in a high-level language (e.g. Perl or Python).
Experience and comfort on the Linux command line.
Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform).
Passion for helping people and enabling them to solve problems.
Compensation
$178,500 USD annually and stock options. Compensation is identical within professional levels, regardless of geographic location or team. Compensation for each professional level is transparent across the organization.

You’ll be required to attend meetings on camera via video conferencing
Expect to travel at least two times a year: once for our all-hands meetup and again for a team retreat (each around 4-5 days). While extenuating circumstances may impact attendance, everyone is strongly encouraged to attend.
While we offer a flexible work arrangement with no core hours, expect an average full-time commitment of 40 hours per week.
