The Role
We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable software solutions that enhance our platform's functionality and performance. Reporting to the Director of Development, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and drive technical excellence within the organization.
What You'll Do:
- Architect, develop, and deploy high-quality software solutions that align with business goals.
- Lead technical discussions and contribute to key decisions on system design, architecture, and best practices.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to develop new features and improve existing functionality.
- Optimize application performance, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
- Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior developers.
- Identify technical challenges, propose solutions, and continuously improve our development processes.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.
What We’re Looking For:
- 7+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on scalable and high-performance applications.
- Proficiency in the MEAN stack (MongoDB/MongoDB Atlas, Express.js, Angular, Node.js).
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).Strong understanding of database technologies, including both SQL and NoSQL solutions.
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks like React.
- Experience with AI tools to enhance productivity and decision-making is an asset.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with a passion for mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Location
We have embraced a distributed model of working to reach the best talent in the world. While some roles may require proximity to our Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver offices, roles based outside our office locations can be remote in Canada.
