What You'll Do

As the Senior Graphic Designer Specialist at Mapbox, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our brand's visual identity across various platforms as well as executing day-to-day graphic tasks. This position requires a creative professional with extensive experience in designing graphics for social media, presentation decks, print materials, and web. The ideal candidate will bring fresh, innovative ideas to the table and elevate our graphics to new heights.

  • Brand Guidelines: Enhance and expand brand guidelines to ensure consistency and elevate brand identity across all design projects.

  • Social Media Graphics: Design engaging and on-brand graphics for various social media platforms (LinkedIn, X, Instagram, etc.) that drive engagement and convey our message effectively.

  • Presentation Decks: Create and maintain visually compelling and professional presentation decks that communicate complex information clearly and persuasively. Oversee deck creation and standardization across the organization.

  • Printed Materials and Flyers: Develop high-quality print materials, including flyers, brochures, posters, and other promotional items, ensuring consistency with our brand identity.

  • Creative Thinking and Brand Consistency: Strong ability to generate innovative design ideas and concepts that align with brand guidelines and project objectives while maintaining and enhancing the visual consistency of Mapbox's brand across all digital and print materials.

  • Corporate Marketing and Visual Asset Governance: Govern the creation, management, and utilization of corporate marketing and visual assets to ensure alignment with brand standards and strategic goals.

  • Asset Management: Implement and oversee a comprehensive system for the organization, storage, and retrieval of visual assets. This includes cataloging assets, managing usage rights, and ensuring that team members can easily access the latest and most relevant materials. You'll be responsible for maintaining a well-organized asset library that supports efficient and effective use of design resources across the company.

  • Lead Generation Materials: Design and develop visually appealing materials that support lead generation efforts, including eBooks, whitepapers, infographics, and case studies.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, content, web-design and product teams to understand project requirements and deliver creative solutions that meet business objectives.

  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and work are completed to the highest standard.

Trend Analysis: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, applying this knowledge to continuously improve our visual content. 

What We Believe are Important Traits for This Role

  •  5+ years of experience in graphic design, with a focus on social media graphics, presentation decks, and printed materials.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Proficient in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Google Slides, PowerPoint, and other design tools. 

  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects, particularly in social media, presentations, and print.

  • Exceptional creative skills with the ability to produce innovative and effective design solutions.

  • High attention to detail with a strong understanding of layout, typography, color theory, and branding.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and explain design concepts to non-design stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

  • A collaborative approach with a positive attitude and the ability to work well in a team environment.
