The role involves developing, implementing, and managing compensation and benefits programs, collaborating with business leaders, and ensuring alignment with company culture and goals. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in Total Rewards or Compensation & Benefits roles, with global exposure, particularly in the U.S., Ukraine, and India. They should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a data-driven approach to decision-making.

We operate across the U.S., Ukraine, and India in a remote-first and hybrid work environment that embraces flexibility and equity.  We are seeking an experienced Global Compensation and Benefits manager to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our rewards programs across regions to align with our strategy, culture, and goals. This role will be pivotal in driving competitive advantage through effective total rewards strategies, with a focus on balancing employee motivation with cost management for greater ROI while fostering fairness and employee motivation in line with our mission. 

This is a part-time contract position lasting 4-6 months, requiring a commitment of 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The schedule is flexible within standard business hours, with some early West Coast hours anticipated.

What You’ll Do

Global Total Rewards Strategy 

  • Total Rewards Integration of compensation and benefits with other elements of the employee value proposition.
  • Develop, implement, and manage the company’s global compensation and benefits programs across the U.S., Ukraine, and India, ensuring alignment with market trends, regulatory requirements, and company culture.
  • Lead the transition to one global merit cycle to ensure consistency and fairness, while maintaining flexibility to address unique regional needs.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to create bold compensation structures, including salary bands, bonuses, incentives, and equity programs, that reinforce innovation and high performance.
  • Use data-driven insights and market analysis to benchmark compensation practices, ensuring competitiveness and internal equity across all regions.
  • Compensation Planning and Management
  • Oversee annual compensation processes, including merit increases, promotions, and bonuses, ensuring alignment with company objectives and budget.
  • Ensure compensation bands are competitive in Ukraine and India, with a focus on maintaining equitable pay relative to U.S. markets.
  • Conduct regular benchmarking studies and salary surveys to ensure external competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Effectively manage employer costs by evaluating rewards program efficiency, optimizing benefit offerings, and balancing employee value with business ROI. 

Benefits and Well-being Programs 

  • Lead the design and administration of global health, retirement, and well-being benefits programs that meet regional needs while reinforcing JustAnswer’s remote-first philosophy.
  • Develop innovative, local and global rewards programs (e.g., personalized recognition, extra PTO, and growth opportunities) to attract, engage, and retain top talent.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance employee enrichment through meaningful, mission-driven rewards aligned with company values. 

Employee Recognition 

  • Manage JA Awards and IMUA Award programs  
  • Ensure that public and private forms of recognition are integrated into rewards processes to motivate high performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to launch new initiatives that cultivate a cohesive and inclusive culture across regions. 

Compliance and Governance 

  • Stay current on global and regional regulations related to compensation, benefits, tax laws, and reporting requirements, particularly in the U.S., Ukraine, and India.
  • Ensure compliance with local employment laws while maintaining alignment with JustAnswer’s total rewards philosophy. 

Analytics and Reporting 

  • Leverage  HR metrics and dashboards to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of rewards programs, focusing on employee sentiment, retention, and cost management.
  • Provide quarterly reports to leadership with actionable insights on rewards program performance and market trends. 

Collaboration and Leadership 

  • Partner with People Partners, Recruiters, and Finance to ensure alignment between rewards programs and business strategies.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on global rewards trends and best practices.
  • Coach and mentor HR team members on total rewards strategies and tools to add leverage to the CEO and leadership team. 

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in Total Rewards or Compensation & Benefits roles, with global exposure, particularly in the U.S., Ukraine, and India.
  • Deep knowledge of global compensation practices, benefit program design, and local regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • High-comfort level AI tools e.g. ChatGPT, XLSTAT, Power Query, etc.
  • Experience managing global merit cycles and compensation bands, including market benchmarking.
  • Expertise in Radford data analysis and management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across regions and cultures.
  • Demonstrated ability to think boldly and innovate, in line with company values and strategy.
  • Comfortable working in a remote-first environment with cross-cultural teams.
  • Progressive total rewards leadership with increasing levels of responsibility in identifying, consulting, designing, recommending, and implementing innovative solutions
  • Deep subject matter expertise in total rewards, including trends, thought leadership, and practical application of these
  • Strong analytical mindset; ability to read and leverage data to drive strategic decisions
  • Excellent business acumen and judgment; able to maturely handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to lead change effectively; communicate complex information and recommendations to key stakeholders and influence good outcomes
