Impossible Foods is seeking a Senior Manager, Retail Sales Strategy to lead the development of retail sales strategies and trade marketing initiatives across various channels. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of retail CPG sales, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to effectively juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. As part of the Retail Leadership Team, this individual will partner with cross-functional partners to build cohesive and integrated materials, programs, and processes. The role offers a competitive salary range ($127,000 - $165,000) + equity + benefits + bonus for sales incentive plan roles. Job Description
Essential Job Functions:
- Serve as the critical liaison between Marketing and Sales teams, ensuring seamless communication and alignment on priorities.
- Collaborate with Finance, Sales Operations and Category Management to design and optimize trade marketing programs, including promotions and merchandising strategies, to drive brand visibility and customer engagement.
- Partner with product development teams to support new product launches and ensure successful commercialization.
- Facilitate development, distribution and training of critical sales materials, including new item releases, bi-annual sales strategy and brand marketing initiatives, ensuring Retail sales is armed with effective and compelling narratives for use with customers
- Manage and develop direct report, establishing a high productivity Retail Sales Strategy hub
- Build flexible processes that allow sales team to be armed with timely and compelling materials to maximize selling effectiveness, while also securing critical information to feed back into internal workstreams
- In conjunction with cross functional partners, identify ways of working across teams, leveraging each’s expertise to build cohesive and integrated materials, programs and processes
- Understand and balance cross functional stakeholder needs, managing to the optimal outcome that enables Impossible growth
- As part of the Retail Leadership Team, partner with Retail sales leaders on the right GTM strategy for Impossible and the optimal way to execute across channels
- Ensure critical information is delivered correctly and timely for customer and third party system updates
- Be a strong cross-functional partner to Marketing, Communications, Finance, Accounting, R&D and Supply Chain.
- Challenge the status quo of “how things work” in the food industry to knock down barriers to grow the business faster than any food brand ever has
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from a four-year college or university
- 10+ years in CPG with experience across retail sales, trade or channel marketing, customer development or sales operations roles
- Proven success managing multi-stakeholder projects
- Ability to create effective and compelling sales enablement processes and tools
- Strong communication, organization and influencing skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preference for experience in selling or working with mid-cycle CPG brands
- Genuine interest and passion for Impossible Food’s mission
- Highly collaborative with all functions (sales, R&D, marketing, communications, finance, supply chain, IT)
- Agility in navigating an ever changing and often chaotic (and exciting) high growth environment
- Well organized, resourceful, positive attitude and driven to excel
- Ability to prioritize, delegate and communicate efficiently and effectively
- Understanding of Retail sales constructs and cycles
- Ability to think strategically, act tactically
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
