The Machine Learning Platform team at Reddit is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to architect, implement, and maintain foundational ML infrastructure used for various applications such as Feeds Ranking, Content Understanding, Recommendations, Ads, and more. The role involves building feature stores for online inference and model training, leading the building, testing, and maintenance of ML Feature Store and Feature Engineering infrastructure, and mentoring team members in adopting a rigorous DevOps approach. Who We Are: The Machine Learning Platform team at Reddit is a high-impact team that owns the infrastructure that powers recommendations, content discovery, user and content quantification, while directly impacting other teams such as Growth, Ads, Feeds, and Core Machine Learning teams.
What You’ll Do: As a Senior Software Engineer, ML Feature Platform, you will work on our Machine Learning Feature Platform Team and be instrumental in architecting, implementing, and maintaining foundational ML infrastructure used to compute, store and retrieve features powering Feeds Ranking, Content Understanding, Recommendations, Ads, and much more to fulfill Reddit’s mission of bringing community and belonging to everyone in the world. You will build feature stores for online inference and model training, tools that enable machine learning engineers (MLEs) and data scientists (DSs) to improve the ML feature software development lifecycle.
Lead the building, testing, and maintenance of our ML Feature Store and Feature Engineering infrastructure at Reddit that serves 100 million+ redditors.
Work with other engineers across ML Platform and Reddit infrastructure to significantly advance the ML Platform.
Work with management on team goal setting, planning, and de-risk project execution
Mentor other team members in adopting a rigorous DevOps approach to maintain and/or improve ML infra components and services health and quality
Who You Might Be:
4-6+ years of work experience in a production software development environment
Experience working on large-scale ML Systems serving 100s of millions of users
Experience building feature stores and feature engineering infrastructure
Experience building production-quality code incorporating testing, evaluation, and monitoring using object-oriented programming, including experience in Python, Scala, and golang.
Experience with Kubernetes
Knowledge of maintaining or developing applications using large-scale open source data stack, e.g, Kafka, Flink, Cassandra, Redis
Comfortable with distributed systems, big data (Petabyte scale) and data-intensive systems
Strong organizational & communication skills
