Join our critical software automation team to protect the ExtraHop product line. As a Software Automation Engineer, you will advocate for customer experience by planning, developing, executing, and troubleshooting automated regression testing of ExtraHop products and services. Expand automated test capabilities by developing tests for full-stack SaaS solutions. Key responsibilities include implementing new and maintaining existing UI, REST API, and RPC test automation; executing, triaging, and maintaining regression test suites in a CI environment; developing new automated test suites with Development and Project Management teams to verify new features; helping build and maintain the automation test framework; driving product quality through clear issue writing; and tracking feature testing tasks. Required qualifications include 2+ years of scripting or OOP experience (Python), test framework development, Linux OS experience, and issue tracking system experience. Preferred qualifications include UI automation with BDD, Big Data/Cloud/SaaS experience, virtualization platforms, creating test plans for complex products, web application testing, REST API validation, CI pipeline experience, testing methodologies, SDLC experience, and open-source software knowledge.

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities
Implement new and maintain existing UI, REST API and RPC test automation.
Execute, triage and maintain existing regression test suites in a CI environment.
Develop new automated test suites in coordination with Development and Project Management teams to verify new product features and capabilities.
Help build and maintain automation test framework.
Drive product quality and feature growth through clear issue writing.
Track and manage feature testing tasks to completion.
Required Qualifications
Curious engineer who likes to know why things break
Passion for testing
2+ years scripting and/or OOP programming experience (Python, etc)
Test Framework development and maintenance experience
Linux OS experience
Experience with an Issue Tracking system (e.g. JIRA, Bugzilla, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
Someone who's excited about finding issues; but only satisfied by understanding the how and why of the issue
Experience with UI Automation, preferably using BDD (e.g. Python Behave driving Selenium)
Experience/knowledge with Big Data, Cloud, or SaaS
Experience with virtualization platforms or containers
History of creating and executing Test Plans for complex products and networking solutions.
Web application (Javascript, CSS, etc) testing experience.
Prior experience automating REST API validation
Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking
CI Pipeline experience (gitlab, k8s, Jenkins, AWS EC2, AWS ECR)
Knowledge of Testing methodologies
Experience with SDLC, preferably Agile Scrum
Experience with open source software, especially test automation solutions
The base salary for this position is between $99,000-120,000 plus bonus and benefits.
