Job Summary

As a Sr Engineer I on their Provider Portal product team, you will help develop and extend the infrastructure and backend capabilities to manage obligation inventories securely and performantly. You will work with other engineers, cross-functionally with product managers and designers, and contribute to architecture and implementation decisions. Daily Responsibilities
- Write high-quality, clean, concise, well-tested code
- Build highly scalable distributed services independently and with collaborative support from others
- Have expertise in high-level language(s) and common AWS services, including CodePipeline, as well as other common software development technologies such as Git, etc.)
- Contribute to architecture and/or implementation decisions
- Contribute ideas into the technical and product roadmap, and estimate effort for initiative discovery and execution
- Proactively solve code challenges; you can predict/identify issues in code, anticipate solutions, and consider the downstream impacts of those solutions
- Mentor other engineers and share knowledge through a variety of methods
- Participate in the team’s 24/7 on-call rotation (on a week long shift basis), providing timely response and resolution to production issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with +5 years of relevant experience.
- Understands system architecture and programming paradigms; learns new technical areas and ships code independently.
- Proficient in a range of software development tools (Golang preferred), and has the ability to learn new areas and languages quickly.
- Demonstrates continuous learning, improvement, and the ability to suggest/implement technical solutions.
- Communicates assumptions, opportunities, risks, and complex systems to diverse audiences.
- Scopes/estimates stories, communicates limitations, and manages time off effectively.
- Owns/delivers tasks, understands domain scope, and handles production issues.
- Self-directs work, gathers context, and considers code observability, maintainability, and efficiency.
- Documents/refactors code and follows standards/procedures.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, participates in recruiting, and engages in team activities.
- Can facilitate a meeting with technical and non-technical stakeholders, with clear agenda and meeting outcomes.
