Sr. Systems Architect

Summary

We are a team of Engineering Leaders who drive forward the technology architecture, strategy and roadmap for Pismo, in collaboration with our stakeholders in sales,  product, engineering, and key customers. We operate as a horizontal function to support the stakeholders across the teams. We build a deep understanding of the products, sales pipeline and customer challenges to prioritize our workload. We balance our priorities between tactical/fire-fighting that require immediate attention either with customers or internal teams, and driving the long-term technology strategy for Pismo. While our primary focus remains on defining the future of Pismo’s platform, we understand occasionally, we will also need to address more tactical needs for Pismo’s engineering community and customer demands. 

What you'll do

• Architecture and Strategy: Leads the development of the overall technology architecture, addressing performance, scalability, security, resilience and cost optimization.
• Cross-organization support: Collaborates with other teams to address critical technical challenges, provide guidance and educate engineers on the best practices. 
• Design Reviews and Guidance: Work alongside engineering teams to review critical/ significant changes and how it impacts the product and platform architecture.
• Emerging technologies and prototyping: Understands the developments in the technology landscape to embrace new ideas that improve our product and customer experience by creating strategies to adopt such technologies. May develop proof of concept to address current and future needs of our customers.
• Thought Leadership: Publish papers, blogs, present in internal and public conferences to demonstrate Pismo’s technology leadership, and innovative approach to solving hard engineering problems.
• Training, Development and Mentoring: Implement company wide learning opportunities via brown-bag sessions, All-Hands, bootcamps and hackathons.

Minimum Qualifications

Location:

• You must be based in Austin/Texas

Technical Skills:

• Experience with Cloud Platform; System Development; Complex/large-scale system experience;

• Desirable experience with technical depth/breadth; FSI/Banking systems;
