Job Summary

The Merchant organization at Pinterest empowers businesses to showcase their products and brand on the platform through high-quality product catalogs, advertising campaigns, and compelling brand presence. As a Staff Product Manager for Merchant Presence, you will define vision and strategy for how merchants and their content appear on Pinterest. You will partner with algorithmic and editorial teams, lead V1 work on merchant boards and collages, and build tools to enable merchants to showcase content in the most compelling ways. This role requires demonstrated experience working on consumer experiences at scale, exceptional relationship-building skills, and strong analytical skills. The position offers a competitive salary range of $148k-$304k per year and flexible remote work options.

The Merchant organization empowers businesses to effectively showcase and promote their products and brand to Pinterest's vast user base. We provide the tools and support for high-quality merchants to upload and maintain rich product catalogs, execute impactful advertising campaigns, and cultivate a compelling brand presence on the platform. As a Staff Product Manager for Merchant Presence, you will spearhead the strategy for how merchants and their brands appear on Pinterest. This includes overseeing the inspirational content they share, the ways they leverage boards and collages, and the overall curation of their brand profiles. Your work will be instrumental in shaping the overarching vision for how brands engage and inspire Pinners on Pinterest.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Define vision and strategy for how we want merchants and their content to show up across the Pinterest experience. Socialize, iterate, and align downstream teams and their work with this vision.

  • Partner with algorithmic and editorial teams on Merchant profiles and content showcases.

  • Lead V1 work on merchant boards and collages. Build the merchant tools and content creation suggestions that enable merchants to showcase content and products in the most compelling ways.

  • Deeply understand the merchant lifecycle so you can ensure merchants are investing in their Pinterest presence at the right time and seeing clear payoff.

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrated experience working on consumer experiences at scale, especially within algorithmic contexts.

  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, organizational awareness, and ability to persuade others to accomplish program objectives while holding yourself and your team to a high standard of accountability.

  • Demonstrated success as a product manager at fast-growing companies.

  • Proven ability to lead in ambiguous environments, aligning across functions, teams, and orgs to deliver on time in a highly collaborative environment.

  • Strong analytical skills to define product strategy and drive decision making, making appropriate trade-offs based on data analysis and qualitative feedback from Pinners.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with clear communication of complex topics.

  • Experience working in B2B2C experiences or platforms/business tooling is a plus.

In-Office Requirement: 

  • We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.

  • This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/quarter, 1-2 times per half and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.
