Job Summary

WordPress VIP is seeking a VP, Brand & Growth to lead the brand narrative, voice, and content strategy for their enterprise division. The role involves building and scaling the brand's presence across multiple channels, developing impactful storytelling, and driving cohesive communication across all touchpoints. The ideal candidate will have a commercial mindset, strong analytical skills, and experience working cross-functionally with product, sales, and marketing teams. They will be responsible for setting and breaking pipeline and revenue targets, leading a high-performing team, and partnering closely with cross-functional teams to align the brand vision with achieving pipeline and revenue objectives. WordPress VIP offers flexible remote work options, $4,000/year travel stipends, and equity in a fast-growing company.

The VP, Brand & Growth will play a pivotal role in defining and executing our brand narrative, voice, and content strategy as a lever to drive pipeline growth and revenue for WordPress VIP, the enterprise division of Automattic. 

You will build and scale our brand’s presence across multiple channels, develop impactful storytelling, and drive cohesive communication across all touchpoints. In this strategic yet execution-focused role, you will lead and build a team, and partner closely with cross-functional teams to align our brand vision with achieving pipeline and revenue objectives. 

The VP, Brand & Growth will lead a team that drives awareness, pipeline coverage, and conversion to qualified opportunities. You will have a holistic understanding of our brand promise and differentiation across the lifecycle of our existing and future customers. You'll bring a commercial mindset to marketing and across the WordPress VIP organization, setting and holding high standards of what it means to use brand, storytelling, and effective marketing to drive growth. 

Responsibilities 

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration  

  • Develop a track record of setting and breaking pipeline and revenue targets. 

  • Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous learning.

  • Leverage internal and external insights to communicate the role of brand, content, and communications play in driving pipeline growth.

  • Navigate across a matrixed organization within a complex, evolving market.

Brand

  • Lead the development and execution of a holistic brand positioning platform approach that grows awareness, shifts perception, and differentiates WordPress VIP in the market, fostering a brand identity that resonates with enterprise B2B audiences in key markets.

  • Partner with product, sales, and marketing teams to ensure a cohesive brand message across all channels, including digital, social, web, events, and partner channels.

  • Oversee creating and implementing a brand system, including tone, voice, and visual identity across global campaigns.

  • Partner closely with GTM Revenue Marketing and commercial teams to ideate on and launch effective marketing campaigns targeting priority markets and audiences. 

  • Partner with leadership and enablement to establish an internal program to reach, engage, and galvanize employees to become brand evangelists and solution experts regardless of role or function. 

Content

  • Oversee and innovate how to approach content planning, creation, and distribution, including long-form and short-form content, blogs and blog posts, case studies, video content, and new and existing channels. 

  • Collaborate with product marketing, revenue marketing, and sales teams to ensure content is compelling, stands out, and demonstrates WordPress VIP as an authority in the CMS space. 

  • Be pipeline-driven, and ensure content is continuously optimized, aligned to different needs including thought leadership and conversion. 

  • Able to report on performance trends, identifying key insights to shape decision making. 

Communications

  • Drive a comprehensive communications strategy, including PR, Analyst Relations, and crisis, executive, and internal communications.

  • Manage relationships with PR agencies and media outlets to increase brand visibility, maintain a strong presence in relevant industry publications, and elevate WordPress VIP’s voice in global and national news cycles.

  • Oversee internal communications efforts to galvanize teams about our mission to grow our presence in the Enterprise CMS & Analytics space. 

Performance Marketing 

  • Oversee performance marketing strategies across various channels (e.g., SEM, paid social, display, retargeting) to drive enterprise customer acquisition and growth.

  • Responsible for performance and channel forecasting, budget management, and ROI analysis to maximize spend efficiency.

  • Collaborate with data and analytics teams to track, measure, and report on the performance of digital marketing campaigns, making data-driven adjustments to achieve optimal results.

Website Management & Innovation

  • Oversee the team responsible for ensuring WordPress VIP has the best website in the world and executing a strategy that enhances the customer journey, improves conversion rates, enables VIP to build and own our own audience, and reduces friction across all touchpoints.

  • Responsible for driving the strategy, development, and ongoing optimization of a website experience that accurately reflects our brand promise, differentiation, and positioning by conveying messages relevant to our diverse customer base. 

Requirements 

  • Proven experience with examples in brand strategy, content strategy, and communications in a high growth, matrixed B2B enterprise environment.

  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing brand campaigns that elevate brand presence and drive measurable business impact, namely pipeline and revenue.

  • Strong understanding of digital content distribution channels, including social media, SEO, email, and web content.

  • Exceptional storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling messages for a variety of audiences across CMS, data, and analytics.

  • Experience working cross-functionally with product, sales, and marketing teams in a collaborative, high-growth environment.

  • Strong analytical mindset with experience in leveraging data and analytics to optimize brand and content strategies.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $240,000-$330,000 USDPlease note that salary ranges are global, regardless of location, and we pay in local currency.
