Your Role & Mission
As an Engineering Manager, Growth (Activation) at Apollo.io, you will lead a team focused on improving activation metrics, onboarding, feature adoption, and user engagement. You will work at the intersection of engineering, product, and data to build experimentation-driven solutions that enhance user retention and drive business impact.
Your responsibilities will include:
Defining and driving activation strategies to improve key growth metrics such as onboarding completion rates, feature adoption, and product engagement.
Managing and scaling a high-performing team of engineers (5-8, with plans to grow).
Guiding technical direction for A/B testing frameworks, experimentation platforms, and long-term foundational projects.
Working cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Data teams to develop and execute impactful growth initiatives.
Ensuring team alignment with business goals, shielding engineers from distractions while fostering a culture of ownership, learning, and execution speed.
Communicating effectively with customers and stakeholders, ensuring that activation issues are addressed efficiently.
What We Look For
8+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of leading impactful projects.
3-5 years of engineering management experience, preferably leading senior engineers and managers in a fast-paced environment.
Growth engineering mindset with experience in improving Activation metrics through experimentation, A/B testing, and data-driven decision-making.
Technical depth in backend or full-stack development, with proficiency in Ruby, Python, and data-driven architectures.
Experience with activation, onboarding, and feature adoption initiatives in B2B SaaS products.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, working closely with Product and Data teams to execute growth strategies.
Startup experience or the ability to thrive in a fast-scaling, high-ownership environment.
Nice to Have
Experience with React, MongoDB, SQL, Elasticsearch, and data platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, and Airflow.
Hands-on experience leveraging AI tools for software development efficiency.
Understanding of data privacy and security best practices.
