About the role

We are seeking a motivated, detail-orientated paralegal, corporate secretary or newly qualified lawyer to assist the Head of Legal Operations in managing the corporate governance and legal support for The Adaptavist Group. This dynamic role requires someone self-motivated who uses initiative and has the confidence to undertake administrative tasks efficiently and diligently with strong organisational skills.

Additionally, you will assist with the drafting, negotiation and review of legal documents such as contracts, supplier agreements and leases, as well as supporting special projects.

This role is part of the strategic and operational team under the Office of the COO, offering ample opportunity for professional growth and development over time and exposure to complex and varied legal and corporate governance challenges. Your legal and organisational expertise will be instrumental in ensuring wider efficiency, compliance and innovation across The Adaptavist Group.

What you'll be doing

Legal Administration and Support

  • Corporate Governance: Manage the corporate governance framework for The Adaptavist Group's global legal entities, ensuring compliance and timely filings.

  • Legal Documentation: Assist the Head of Legal Operations in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, supplier agreements, leases, and other legal documents.

  • Research: Conduct legal and regulatory research to support projects and provide informed recommendations.

  • Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.

  • Compliance Monitoring: Stay informed of changes in regulations affecting global operations and ensure appropriate updates to legal practices.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with HR, finance and facilities teams to address legal and compliance matters.

  • Project Management: Manage ad-hoc administrative and strategic projects using tools like Jira, Confluence, monday.com, and Slack.

  • Legal Filings, Policy and Template Drafting: Draft legal correspondence, manage filings, and assist with the drafting of TAG policies and templates.

  • Strategic Planning Support: Assist with scheduling, governance reporting, special projects and strategic planning initiatives across the group.

What we're looking for

  • Proven organisational skills with a track record of managing multiple priorities effectively under pressure.

  • Strong academic background, with a degree in Law or equivalent experience in a legal environment (e.g., paralegal, legal secretary).

  • Proficient in administrative tasks, legal writing, and IT tools.

  • Strong research skills with a focus on legal and regulatory matters.

  • Analytical mindset with forensic attention to detail for reviewing data and documents.

  • Commercial awareness and the ability to align legal solutions with business needs.

  • Confidence in negotiating and redlining contracts and legal documents.

  • Collaborative and approachable, with a passion for helping colleagues and contributing to team success.

  • Self-starter with a proactive attitude and a commitment to excellence and ability to use their initiative.

A few nice to haves

  • Experience working in a high-growth tech or start-up environment.

  • Legal qualifications, such as a paralegal certification or a completed legal degree.

  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and other organizational platforms (e.g., monday.com, Slack).
